Corporate Housing in Gothenburg – practical for projects, shift work, and longer assignments

Good corporate housing in Gothenburg should make the daily commute to work easy. For project teams, being on the right side of the river, working hours, parking, and access to public transport are often more important than living as centrally as possible.

Start with the exact address of the workplace and the team's working hours. Then choose an apartment, house, studio, or aparthotel based on group size, length of stay, and how staff will get to work.

Choose an area based on the workplace

Gothenburg's workplaces are spread out between the city center, Hisingen, harbor and industrial areas, and the municipalities around the city. Accommodation on the "wrong" side of a bottleneck can create unnecessary travel time. Therefore, check the travel time at the actual time the team starts and finishes – including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Parking and public transport

Office and consultant teams can often prioritize trams, buses, or trains. Installation and service teams, however, need space for company cars, tools, and sometimes larger vehicles. Always ask if parking is included, how far it is to the car, and if there are height, length, or charging restrictions.

Västlänken changes travel

Västlänken is an approximately eight-kilometer-long railway through central Gothenburg, with stations at Centralen, Haga, and Korsvägen. The Swedish Transport Administration states that Centralen will open as a terminal station in December 2026 and that the entire Västlänken is expected to open in 2030. Construction work and new traffic solutions may affect travel routes, so current travel times should be checked before each booking.

What the inquiry should contain

  • Workplace address and shift or office hours.

  • Dates and how likely an extension is.

  • Number of people, beds, and preference for private bedrooms.

  • Number of vehicles and type of parking required.

  • Kitchen, laundry, internet, and any workspace.

  • Desired maximum travel time to the workplace.

  • Who is authorized to approve changes during the stay.

Compare total cost and daily work life

Central accommodation is not automatically the best. Also, consider travel time, parking, congestion tax, the possibility of cooking, and how many people share the accommodation. For longer assignments, practical accommodation closer to the workplace can provide both lower costs and a better daily life for the team.
