Housing for large project teams
Teams of around 20 to over 100 people usually need several properties at once. Plan around travel time to the worksite, parking, grouping and move-in dates, and agree early on how changes and contacts will be handled.
Expect several properties
A larger team rarely fits in a single property. Several apartments, houses or hotels are often combined. What matters is that the whole setup works for the group and for the job.
Travel time and parking
Start from the worksite. Short, predictable travel times make the working day easier. If staff drive their own cars or work vehicles, each property needs parking.
Grouping
Think about who should live together – work crews, shift groups or people who share a car. State whether you need single rooms or whether shared rooms work.
Move-in dates
Large teams often arrive in waves. Describe which groups arrive when, so the housing can be planned at the same pace.
Scaling up and down
Headcount often changes during a project. Mention early if you expect to scale up, scale down or extend. In the solar park case study, the team grew from around 50 to over 100 people and the housing was adjusted continuously.
Clear lines of contact
Decide who on your side is the contact for housing and how staff can reach someone with questions. One coordinating contact for all properties makes it easier to handle changes quickly.
